What is Pérada?
Pérada is a guava based sweet similar to Mangada from mangoes or Marmelada from oranges. The harder version, available here, is eaten as a sweet or spread over toast for breakfast. It originated in Brazil and was introduced into Goa by the Portuguese.
How is it made?
Equal measures of ripe Guava pulp and sugar with a little lime juice are stirred on a low flame. It takes loads of patience to create the deep red sweet of love.
Perad and plum cake were good in an otherwise disappointing first time order that included stale salted cashews and stale gram cake.Dec 28, 2023 6:55:14 AM
